Georgia football finally receives some good news in the middle of the NFL draft exodus.

The good news is that not everyone who helped the Bulldogs win the championship is ready to leave just yet.

In a unique fashion, defensive back William Poole III declared his intention to return for his sixth season of eligibility.

Poole announced the date of Georgia’s season-opening game in Atlanta versus the Oregon Ducks on Twitter. He’ll be a part of it.

The DB was out for the first four weeks of the season and didn’t have much of a role until he returned. However, he got his time to shine in the SEC title game when he took over as the starting quarterback against Alabama. He appeared in the playoff semifinal against Michigan before intercepting two passes in the championship game against the Crimson Tide.

Pool had 14 tackles, a half-tackle for loss, and four pass breakups on the season. In his final season with the Bulldogs, he is expected to play a bigger role.
